I decided to take my chances and see if I could get a little closer. The chicks are small enough that their instinct is to play "I am a rock you don't see me", so I was able to walk up and get a closer picture.

Hey little chicky
The killdeer eggs in our backyard hatched early this morning or last night. It appears all four hatched, and there were little cotton balls running around the yard this morning before work.
I decided to take my chances and see if I could get a little closer. The chicks are small enough that their instinct is to play "I am a rock you don't see me", so I was able to walk up and get a closer picture.
