Why I don't Tweet

If I went this long between updates on Twitter, I'd probably end up on a missing person list somewhere. "Gosh, his last tweet said he was going to the store, and that was three weeks ago!" Somehow it seems more forgivable to neglect a blog for a little while.
Now, let's see...May...The first weekend in May we had Alison's 5th birthday party. I'd post pictures of that, but I forgot my camera at home on the way to the party. Gasp. I know. I've been warned.

Alison finished up with her parks and rec track events - it was a lot of fun and free.

The following weekend was the Fargo Marathon. Both Jennifer and I ran in the 5K and Jennifer did an awesome job. Grandma and Grandpa came up to watch the kids for us.

Except for the morning of the run, it's actually started to feel a little more like spring around here - enough that the kids have been able to play with bubbles outside.

Alison got a sewing machine from Aunt Pat and Uncle Mike - she absolutely loves it. Included with the sewing machine was a pattern to make a pumpkin and a turkey (for turkey hunting, of course). After the run we sat down and worked on the pumpkin with her.

And here's a sign I've taken too many pictures:

That weekend I discovered we have a killdeer nest in our backyard. Now, normally I'm not a big killdeer fan - they're loud. Obnoxious. Keep you up at night. But now they've got a nest, and...well, that's kind of neat.

Here's a strange family trait. Eli's got the same curl on the top of his head that Grandpa does. Well, at least in this picture.

This last weekend we went down to St. Paul for my godson's baptism. On Saturday we stopped by Jennifer's Aunt Betty's place for lunch and had a great visit. Alison loved spending time with Aunt Betty and couldn't stop talking about her all weekend.

After Aunt Betty's place we checked into the hotel, managed to lose the laptop in our vehicle (thought it was stolen for the day but found it in the morning) and then went to the Children's Museum.

Alison managed to steal a city bus and get into a high spee...no, that can't be right...Oh, that's right. They had a neat city exhibit where the kids got to play bus driver, work in a restaurant, and do other fun jobs.

You know how when you're trying to go somewhere in a hurry and the kids just seem to drag along? Finally, an accurate representation of the sensation.

No trip to a kids' activity would be complete without face paint.

We've got a long weekend coming up - hopefully at some point we're going to get the kids out for a nice long adventure on bike. Pictures when we get them!
