Heartland Trail Ride

We met Joel, Carrie and Christopher this morning and drove to Park Rapids to bike part of the Heartland Trail. We weren't sure how far we would make it, but set out down the path with the goal of reaching Dorset by lunch time - about 6 miles.



We had lunch (burgers, pizza and ice cream) at the Dorset House, then put it to a vote of whether or not we should continue on. Alison said she wanted to go further, and nobody else objected, so we continued on to Nevis - another 5.3 miles.







We took a short break in Nevis to see the world's largest Tiger Muskie.





After visiting the fish, we went back to Park Rapids. Total for the trip - 23.3 miles. Yikes. Everybody was a little beat after that, but in good spirits. Here's hoping the kids sleep in tomorrow morning.
