Baseball and the Zoo

We took in a Redhawks game on Saturday night. The bank has a share of a stadium box, so it makes for a nice evening since it keeps the kids reined in a little. Both Hawkeye and Scarlett (the two mascots) made a visit to the box. Surprisingly, Eli wasn't afraid of them at all - he kept running to get hugs and high fives.



Amazingly enough, the kids did sit to watch some of the game. Okay, so maybe about a minute of the game. But still, a good time.


After church on Sunday morning, we stopped to do a little shopping at Target. By the time we were done at Target, it wasn't quite lunch time yet. We thought we would just make sandwiches at home and hang around for the day because it was terribly windy out, but both kids fell asleep on the way home. We were pulling into the neighborhood and looked at each other and said "Now what?" We ran the frozen food inside, then hopped back into the car and drove to Wahpeton to go to the Chahinkapa Zoo. The zoo is in the trees and out of the wind, so we thought it might be nice to be outside but not completely windblasted.

We made it to Wahpeton shortly after normal lunchtime, and grabbed a quick McD's meal before going to the zoo.



There were several wild turkeys wandering around the zoo, and they grabbed our attention more than some of the featured animals.
