Butterflies and Tractors

Well, after a weekend of shoveling wood mulch, we now have gardens along our house foundation. I had one more load to haul across the driveway. Or something like that.

I took Alison to the West Fargo Arena for the Honkin Haulin Truck show - basically they put about 20 different trucks and tractors in the parking lot and let the kids climb all over them. It was a lot of fun, but midway through it started to rain, which sent everyone scurrying for cover. After the rain passed we were able to take in a few more trucks.

Eli is working on his superhuman strength. We took him to a park nearby and he really seemed to enjoy hanging from a zip line. We thought this outfit was appropriate:

And finally, the big news - for Alison's birthday, my aunt and uncle, Pat and Mike, gave her a butterfly habitat. Well, we finally got the caterpillars ordered and after about two weeks of watching caterpillars turn into chrysalides, they hatched today into 5 painted lady butterflies.

When Alison was much smaller, her aunt Betsy got her a little house playset. Eli's now at the age that he can play with it, so it's been getting a lot of use again. Thanks Bets!
