Pancakes

Saturday was pancake morning. We've been a little out of the habit of making pancakes every Saturday, but this weekend was a little different. The Fargo Kiwanis Club was making a world record bid for the most pancakes made in 8 hours. We arrived at the Fargodome at a little before 8 in the morning and tackled two stacks of pancakes and sausage. Unfortunately, they weren't able to break their record from last year, but it was still a great time. They also had inflatable games set up for the kids to play on.

After pancakes, we took Alison to her weekly skating lesson.

And what's a weekend without a little boogie time?

Ascending Mount Cheerio

Apparently just climbing an easel isn't enough. Eli has now figured out how to get into his high chair.

Get along little doggies

Friday was one of those mornings where I looked out the window and told myself I'd better grab the camera for the sunrise.

We didn't have anything extraordinary planned for the weekend. I took Alison for her skating lesson on Saturday morning, and we went to Scheels to kill a little time, look for shoes and ride the ferris wheel in the afternoon.

Sunday afternoon we took the kids to Rheault Farm for a little winter festival. It was a beautiful 30 degrees and sunny, with very little wind. One of the best days for weather we've had in a long time. Which was great, because the park district was giving kids free sled dog rides around the farm. I told Alison that I was too big to go on the sled (it was 14 and under) but if she was going to be brave she could go. She sounded pretty confident so we signed the waiver form and got in line. I was kind of expecting her to back down by the time it was her turn, but each time the dogs came around she got more and more excited. When it was finally her turn, the musher wanted to have one more kid in the sled, mostly just to keep the line moving fast. So they added another kid and off they went.

I think Alison is still grinning from the ride.

It's rained nearly all day today, which made for a slippery drive in and caused some street flooding one the way home. About that flood insurance policy...

Cute monkey

I think someone replaced our boy with a monkey. He insists on climbing everything now. While I was helping Alison color a picture on her easel yesterday, Eli was playing on the other side. Suddenly I hear "Hi!" and look up, and here the rascal is peering over the top of the easel at me. He was more than happy to repeat the task for a picture.
